| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Upload hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audio, 1 show | $15/mo | $18/mo | 72 hours a year, or 6 a month |
| Audio + Video, 1 show | $25/mo | $30/mo | 72 hours a year, or 6 a month |
| Multi-Podcast audio, up to 5 shows | $30/mo | $36/mo | 180 hours a year, or 15 a month |
| Multi-Podcast audio, up to 10 shows | $65/mo | $78/mo | 420 hours a year, or 35 a month |
| Multi-Podcast audio + video, up to 5 shows | $50/mo | $60/mo | 180 hours a year, or 15 a month |
| Multi-Podcast audio + video, up to 10 shows | $80/mo | $96/mo | 420 hours a year, or 35 a month |
The annual column is what you pay each month when you pay for a year up front, so it’s the figure times 12.
| Plan | Cost over 12 months, annual billing | Cost over 12 months, monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| Audio | $180 | $216 |
| Audio + Video | $300 | $360 |
| Multi-Podcast audio, up to 5 | $360 | $432 |
| Multi-Podcast audio, up to 10 | $780 | $936 |
| Multi-Podcast audio + video, up to 5 | $600 | $720 |
| Multi-Podcast audio + video, up to 10 | $960 | $1,152 |
Those totals are our multiplication of Buzzsprout’s listed monthly figures.
What “upload hours” means
- It’s the total length of the new episodes you upload, counted in hours of audio or video.
- Unused hours don’t roll over to the next month or year.
- On Multi-Podcast plans, upload hours are shared across all your shows.
- If you upload more than your plan includes, you can keep publishing. The extra time is billed at your plan’s hourly rate and added to your next invoice. On annual plans, overage is billed monthly.
Worked examples, using our own arithmetic:
| Show | Hours uploaded a year | Against 72 hours on Audio |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly, 45 minutes | about 39 | Under |
| Weekly, 60 minutes | about 52 | Under |
| Weekly, 90 minutes | about 78 | About 6 hours over |
| Twice weekly, 60 minutes | about 104 | About 32 hours over |
On monthly billing, the 6-hour monthly cap is tighter. A weekly one-hour show uploads 4 or 5 hours in a month. A weekly 90-minute show uploads 6 to 7.5.
What’s included
Buzzsprout’s pricing page lists these on its paid plans: unlimited episodes, directory listing, a podcast website, advanced stats, an RSS feed, custom embed players, Visual Soundbites, Listener Support, Subscriptions, Buzzsprout Ads, Dynamic Content, Podcast Achievements, Easy Podcast Migration, and unlimited team members.
- Transcripts: automatic on all current paid plans. They appear in your RSS feed and on the Buzzsprout website.
- Video: the video plans add 1080p video, with video distribution to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and YouTube.
- Add-ons: Cohost AI, which generates titles, descriptions, chapters, and blog and social posts, and Magic Mastering. The page says pricing depends on your plan and doesn’t list a price.
The free plan and the archive plan
- Free plan: 2 upload hours a month. Episodes stay hosted for 90 days, and paid add-ons and video distribution aren’t included.
- Archive plan: $5/mo. It keeps your show live when you’re not uploading new episodes.
Legacy plans and taxes
Buzzsprout says existing customers keep their legacy pricing. If you downgrade, cancel, or move, you lose it. Buzzsprout collects sales tax where required, so your total may differ from the listed price.
How it compares
Buzzsprout doesn’t cap downloads on its pricing page, so a show with a large audience and short episodes can be cheap there. A show with long or frequent episodes uses upload hours faster.
