Podcast Tool Guide compares the tools podcasters pay for: hosting, private feeds, remote recording, and editing, from services like Transistor, Captivate, Castos, Riverside, and Descript. We focus on the narrow questions that decide a purchase, such as what a host costs at your download count, how many private listeners a plan allows, or how to move a show without losing followers.
How we work
- Vendor pages first. Every price, limit, and feature comes from the vendor’s own public pricing page, feature page, or help center. Each guide lists its sources and the date we checked them.
- Priced at real audience sizes. Hosts charge by downloads, private subscribers, or seats, so we price each one at the same audience size.
- Research, not hands-on reviews. We don’t claim to have run these tools on a live show, and we don’t publish star ratings or invented testimonials.
- Gaps are labeled. When a vendor’s page doesn’t say something, we write “not listed” instead of guessing.
